Materials
- Light Worsted Weight Yarn (DK/8ply) in your desired color (approx. 200-250 grams)
- 4mm (US 6) Knitting Needles
- Tapestry Needle for seaming
- Optional: Buttons or snaps for the jacket closure

20 stitches x 28 rows = 10cm x 10cm (4 inches x 4 inches) in Stockinette Stitch

Pattern
### Jacket
**Body**
- CO 70 stitches.
- K all rows for 10cm (4 inches).
**Sleeves**
- CO 30 stitches.
- K 5 rows in Garter Stitch (K every row).
- Switch to Stockinette Stitch and work 10cm (4 inches).
- BO all stitches.
**Sleeves (to be sewn in later)**
- Repeat steps 1-4 for the second sleeve.
**Front Edge**
- With right side facing, join yarn at the left shoulder and pick up and K 40 stitches along the body edge.
- K 1 row.
- Fold the shoulder edge 1cm (0.5 inches) and K 1 row to create the shoulder seam.
- Continue knitting in Stockinette Stitch for 10cm (4 inches).
- BO all stitches.
**Back Edge**
- Repeat steps 1-5 for the right front edge.
**Seaming**
- Sew the shoulder seams together using a tapestry needle and mattress stitch.
- Sew the sleeve seams.
- Sew the sleeves to the jacket body, matching the underarm stitches.
- Sew the side seams from the bottom of the jacket to the armholes.
### Hat
**Brim**
- CO 96 stitches.
- K 1 row.
- K1, P1 Rib for 5cm (2 inches).
**Crown**
- Switch to Stockinette Stitch (K every row).
- Dec 1 stitch at the beginning and end of every alternate row until there are 12 stitches remaining.
**Top**
- Cut yarn, leaving a tail of about 20cm (8 inches).
- Thread the tail through the remaining stitches and pull tight to close the crown.
- Weave in the ends.
Finishing
Once the jacket and hat are complete, you can optionally add buttons or snaps to the front of the jacket for closure. This will make it easier to put on and take off.
Tips
* For a snugger fit, use a smaller needle size. * For a looser fit, use a larger needle size. * If you don't have light worsted weight yarn, you can use medium worsted weight yarn instead.
